The Tree House has established  a seamless transition from the morning preschool program to the afternoon extended day capabilities, which creates a non segregated feel to the day.

Our Approach

Hello and welcome to the Tree House, we thank you for considering us for your child’s preschool needs. The Tree House curriculum is built upon the philosophy that children learn best by doing.

Learning is not accomplished simply by repeating what someone else says. It requires active participation, thinking and experimentation to see how things work firsthand. Our experienced staff guide and encourage children through carefully planned activities that allow them to develop at their own ideal pace. Our small class sizes help foster educational and social development in a setting where the children feel safe to learn and grow.

We strive to develop self-confidence in children and to teach them skills they will use for the rest of their lives. The foundations we set today will form the foundation for their academic learning in years to come.

Although we are a nonprofit service provided to the community by Presbyterian Church, the Tree House welcomes all children — regardless of religious beliefs or affiliation.

We have welcomed children from India, Japan, England, Australia, Hungary and South Africa, plus over the years, we have appreciated a diversity of religious beliefs including Catholicism, Hinduism, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Methodist, and, of course, Presbyterian to name a few into our school. We are proud to be one of the few preschools in the area with this type of diversity.

Because of this, we are not just a preschool or day care, we are a school who welcomes and values the cultural and religious beliefs of all who attend our school. Our children not only leave the school as independent, curious, self-confident individuals, but also children who are learning about the importance of acceptance and understanding for others.

Our History

The Tree House has been a mission of the Presbyterian Church in Basking Ridge for more than 30 years. We were created to meet the day care needs of the working families in this community. We continue to follow this mission today. We meet the needs of all of our families as we offer many different options including, ½ day preschool, before school care, extended hours and full day care.
